Obituary of Fred W. Bieck

Fred W. Bieck, age 79, passed away peacefully on September17, 2010 in Sun City Center, Fl where he had been a happy resident for 10 years. Fred was born and raised in Grand Island, NE and lived and worked in Lincoln, NE for 40 years. He served in the USAF and during that time he was stationed at Clark AFB, Philippines as a Navigator on B-29s. After the military he started his career as a special education teacher and became the Director for the State Department of Education in Special Education. He enjoyed his involvement with the Shriners organization, the American Legion and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Nebraska. Fred was always very involved in church activities and loved to travel and play bridge. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him as he never knew a stranger. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna of 56 years who passed away in December of 2009. He is survived by two daughters, Debbie Ruud and her husband, Karl of Lindsborg, KS and Dee Dee Dalby and her husband, Chuck of Miami, FL, and three caring grandson, Brian and Kevin Ruud and Matt Dalby, who will miss their AMAZING grandfather. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 701 Valley Forge Boulevard, Sun City Center, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Redeemer Lutheran Church. A private interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with Military Honors.
