Jackie and Rich, Mike, Nick, and all the big family Pistolese...I am so very happy Rich was able to do so much in such a short life. I had wondered why he never made it to any reunions? So sorry to his wife and children. God Bless you all. Please contact me if you like, it would be great to hear from you all. Xo Paul.

Dearest Old Friends, I am so very sorry for your loss. I know it's been a very long time since we've seen eachother but the shock is unimaginable. I think of you all so much, this truely breaks my heart. I hope you all are doing well and are happy and healthy.
I lost my wife in September of 2007, nothing takes way the pain, just knowing one day you will be reunited.
I have tried many times to find you all since we ran into eachother at the Ocean Cnty Mall. All my love, hope to see you all again someday, you were family to me.
Paul Anderson.

I knew Rich through Project Appleseed. He was an encouraging friend and around me never failed to speak well of others. I will miss him personally very much, and I know the Project Appleseed program will be much poorer for his passing.
God bless his family, loved ones and friends with comfort and peace.

Today, at Rich's workplace, we had a memorial lunch in Rich's honor.
While I only knew Rich for a relatively short time (about 9 months), he made a great impact on me and all of those around him. About 20 people who knew Rich well gathered in one of our conference rooms. The pictures from the memorial service were displayed on two large TVs on either side of the room. Rich's boss Doug shared with the group some of the insight he gained about Rich and his life from attending the memorial service. Then, many of us went around and spontaneously shared stories about Rich, the very significant contributions he made in a relatively short times, and all of the things about him outside of work that not all of us knew.
From early on, I had learned Rich was a marksman. I think he was a little surprised at first to learn that one of his nerd scientist coworkers was a member of a shotgun club. Rich sat diagonally and in front of me in the office in another cubicle. Another thing that I learned about Rich very early on was his love of music. We talked about gear, guitars, and he even leant to me his ukulele to try one weekend. Since I could see his screen from where I sit, every once in a while when Rich would be taking a break, I would catch him looking at some guitar page. Then, he would later tell me about his plans for customizing his Les Paul!
We all really miss Rich. He was a terrific guy and incredibly hard working. We also are reminded of how short our time is on this planet and we took pause to note that we should all live life to its fullest, as Rich seemingly did. Our sincere condolences are with you all.

Rich's silly side! At a yearly Wisconsin planning meeting. Back when he and Connie lived in IL but he was Wisconsin Appleseed cadre as far as we Wisconsinites are concerned.

Some Appleseeds days were harder than others, yet you'd still find Rich there.
Hail storm caused us to close up the clinic and the rain runoff gathers at the range we were using. Rich and I had to wade out to take down our equipment before we could go home.
