Obituary of John Joseph Guthy

March 26, 1931 - January 23, 2011 Guthy, John, "JJG" 79, of Valrico, Florida passed away January 23, 2011. He was a native of Queens, NY and formerly lived in Sarasota, Florida. He was a successful business owner in the solar energy industry for many years and active in Community Theater with the Sarasota Players. He is survived by his brother, William Guthy, and sister, Mary O' Reilly, both of New York, two sons John Guthy and Robert Guthy, daughter-in-law, Cari Guthy, and four granddaughters, Emily, Bailey, Aly and Abby Guthy. The family will receive guests from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday January 31, 2011 at Sun City Funeral Home1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, Fla . Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2011 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Boulevard, Sun City Center, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's name to Brandon Meals on Wheels, Inc., 2302 Eleuthera Place, Seffner, FL 33584.
