Obituary of Charlotte Butler Stein

Charlotte Butler Stein, 67 of Great Diamond Island, died peacefully on February 8, 2009 at Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough with her loving family by her side. She was born April 11, 1941 in Olive Hill, Kentucky a daughter of Raymond O. and Margie (Rose) Butler. She was a graduate of Knightstown High School in Indiana. Charlotte furthered her education and graduated from Ball State University in Muncie Indiana. Charlotte worked as an English teacher in Cincinnati, Ohio for several years; and she worked for City Bank in New York City for over 27 years, retiring as a Vice President in 1996 Following her retirement, she and her husband moved to Great Diamond Island. They often sailed to Florida in the winter. Surviving are her husband Edward H. Stein of Great Diamond Island; a stepson, Peter Stein and his wife Lisa of Norwich, VT.; her parents, Raymond O. and Margie Butler of Sun City Center, Fl; a sister, Patricia Butler of Sun City Center, Fl.; three brothers, Phillip Butler and his wife Kathy of Sun City Center, Fl., Raymond Butler, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Sun City Center, Fl., Jeffrey Butler and his wife Laurie of Teaneck, NJ.; seven nieces and nephews, three grand nephews and one grand niece and several cousins. A 1:00 PM graveside service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Ruskin Memorial Park, Ruskin, Florida. In addition there will be a 2:00 p.m. memorial service Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, Maine.
