Obituary of William A. Strickland

William A. Strickland, age 87, passed away on August 20, 2010. Bill was born on March 21, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He lived in Ohio; Livingston, New Jersey; Coral Springs, Florida; and Sun City Center, Florida. He served in the United States Army Infantry during World War II in Europe and the Philippines. He received a B.S. from Purdue University, where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He worked for Westinghouse Electric until his retirement in 1984. He was married to the late Doris Strickland for 55 years, until her death in 2002. He is survived by his children Bill (Maureen) Strickland and Mark (Petra) Strickland, and his grandchildren Scott, Brad, Sean, Kevin, Megan and Erin, as well as his companion Bernadette Mueller. A memorial service will be held at United Community Church, 1501 La Jolla Avenue, Sun City Center, Florida 33573 at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010.
