Obituary of Iris A. Conway

Conway, Iris A. 87, of Sun City Center, Fl passed away September 26, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband Col. John Conway, United States Marine Corp retired. Iris survivors include her son and his wife Pat and Wendy Conway of Sun City Center, Fl, her daughter Linda Conway of Roswell, Ga. and Michele Harris of Mission Viejo, Ca; her step sister Marnie Abraham of Scappoose, Or, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Iris was born in St. Paul, Minn in 1923 and raised in Beach , ND. Her parents were Jay and Pearl Doubles Page. After Jay passed away her mother married Hi Blair. When Iris's husband John retired from the U.S. Marine Corps they took up residence for two years in Moses Lake Washington, then moved to Beach, ND in the mid 70's. She and John worked for the Gold Seal Company in Medora, ND for seventeen years managing the Badlands Motel and other duties. Iris was active in her women's group of PEO in Beach, ND and later in Sun City Center. In Beach, ND, Iris was also active in the garden club, sewing club and activities with the United Church of Christ. Iris moved to Sun City Center, Fl in 1998. She was a loving person who was friendly to all. We were privileged to have her as our mother and she will be sorely missed. A private memorial service will be held at the North Dakota Veteran Cemetery in June
