Obituary of Edward Francis Kapusta

Kapusta, Edward F., Lt. Cmdr., (U.S. Navy Ret.) died January 1, 2011 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by his wife, Ann-Mary Kapusta of Wimauma, Fla (Valencia Lakes), a son, Commander Philip E. Kapusta, U.S. Navy of Valrico, Fla, a daughter, Victoria Carmody of Falls Church, VA., 6 grandchildren, Vincente, Antonio, and Joseph Kapusta of Valrico, Fla, Brooke, Chase and Alec Carmody of Falls Church, VA., and four sisters Victoria Kapusta, Genevieve Dziekan, Sally Spak and Nora McCullough all of Connecticut. A native of Derby, CT, Ed lived in Northern Virginia for 37 years prior to moving to Florida in 2008. He is a graduate of John Kanty Preparatory in Erie, PA and the University of Maryland. As a naval officer, his tours of duty included the Panama Canal Zone, the Sixth Fleet Staff in Gaeta, Italy and the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington, D.C. Among his awards, he earned the Navy Achievement Medal and the Joint Services Commendation Medal. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Nativity Catholic Church, 705 East Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, Fla. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Operations Warrior Foundation, P.O. Box 13483, Tampa, Fla 33681 or the Salvation Army, 28155 S.
