Obituary of Mary Therese Brennan

Brennan, Mary Therese, "Therese" 83, of Sun City Center, died, June 17, 2010 after a long illness at Palm Gardens. She was born November 30, 1926 to Michael and Mary Ryan in Ashtabula, Ohio. Therese was married to Edward Joseph Brennan in Sandusky. She graduated from St John's Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland and worked as a Registered Nurse in the areas in which she lived. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Brennan in 1990 and by her son, Patrick, who died suddenly in 2005 and by her three brothers: Joseph, John, and Francis. Therese and Ned moved to Sun City Center from Kentucky in 1988. Therese worked at Tampa General Hospital and later, South Bay Hospital. After retirement, Therese volunteered with the SCC Emergency Squad for several years as a First Responder. Sports were a big part of her life. She coached an all girls basketball team for years. She attended Pro football and baseball games here and was an avid "Rays" fan. She was a member of the RN Club, Lady Hibernians and the Singles Club. Therese's faith was very important to her, she was a daily communicant at Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church as long as her health permitted. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, Processor, Choir member, and envelope "stuffer". She loved her Irish Heritage. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Terrance of Sevierville, Tennessee, her Daughter-in-law, Kathy Brennan, granddaughter Stacey Leigh, and great grandson, Caiden, all of Shalimar, FL, a brother, James S. Ryan of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and her many friends in SCC. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Sun City Center, Fla. Interment will be in Bushnell National Cemetery where her husband, Ned and son, Patrick are buried.
