Obituary of Eugene C. Carson

Carson, Eugene C., 90, of Sun City Center, FL, died December 6, 2010 in LifePath Hospice House. He was born in Trenton, NJ. He graduated from Brown University in 1942. He took graduate courses at Rutgers University and New York University. He was an officer in the US Coast Guard during World War II. He was a research chemist and went on to head research information management. He was a long-time resident of Rahway, NJ. After moving to Kings Point with his wife Eva over 22 years ago, he became active in the Kings Point Lapidary Club, serving as its Treasurer and as an instructor for many years. He was secretary of his condominium association. Earlier this year, he moved to Sun Towers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva L. Carson, who died in 2007 and his son, Eugene C. Carson, Jr., who died in 2002. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Diana M. and William H. Leatham; two grandchildren, Matthew P. and Diana E. Carson; recently added to his family was Rebecca Schenck Carson (Matthew's wife); his brother and sister-in-law V. Robert and Elizabeth Carson; and several dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, many of whom he was able to see over the past few months. Burial will take place in the family cemetery in Hightstown, NJ. A celebration of his life will take place at a later time.
