Obituary of Marie Faulk

Faulk, Marie, 71, of Riverview, Fla passed away May 26, 2010. She was born March 20, 1939 in Cassleberry, Alabama to Ben and Callie Webster. Marie was the eldest of six children. In an era, when women were supposed to be made of sugar and spice, she was unapologetically made of steel, stone and stability. With a backbone like a crowbar and an iron will, she conquered adversity that would have caused most to give up, but she never did. While she had many titles throughout her life, the ones she cherished most were mother and granny. It was her unfaltering faith in Jesus that gave her the strength to raise her children and even assist with rearing of her grandchildren. Giving up was not an option, and quit was not in her vocabulary. She was the trusted anchor in storms of life that kept our ships from drifting too far. Her undaunted pursuit of helping those in need was a life long characteristic. Her caring heart coupled with her tenacious spirit became instrumental in establishing a local distribution of Angel Food Ministries in the Riverview area. Marie is survived by her children, Gwen, Cindy, Danny and Cecilia and her grandchildren, Felinia, Jeseia, Chelsea, John Wesley and Casey and 5 great grandchildren and many others she had adopted into her heart throughout the years. Services will be held in her honor at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2010 at the River of Life Christian Center, 6605 Krycul Avenue, Riverview, Fla 33578. Donations may be made in her honor to Angel Food Ministries at the River of Life Christian Center.
