Obituary of Judith Ann Fitt

Fitt, Judith Ann (Paul), loving wife and beloved mother went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 1, 2008. Judith (Judy) was born in Johnstown, PA on September 24, 1942. She graduated from Johnstown Central High School in the class of 1960 and began work with the Johnstown Housing Authority. In 1964, she married Larry E, Fitt, her childhood sweetheart, and the couple was blessed with two wonderful sons, Jeffrey Allen and John Kenneth. The couple spent more than 30 years of married life in Orland Park, IL. After her sons entered school, Judy served as a librarian and learning center aide for more than 20 years in Elementary School District 140. She served as a Den Leader Coach in the Cub Scouts and as a scorekeeper in the Orland Youth Association. At home, she loved a broad variety of crafts most she gave away to friends and family. She also followed their sons as they pursued musical interests (for John) and cross country and track (for Jeff). After decades of employment service, Judy and Larry decided to enjoy their retirement in the Kings Point Community of Sun City Center, FL where they have resided for 12 years. She had been a member of United Christian Church of Country Club Hills where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Recently, however, she transferred her membership to the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, FL. Earlier in her life she was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Johnstown, PA. Judy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Larry E. Fitt, sons Jeffrey A. (and daughter-in-law Debra Shoemaker Fitt) of Riverview, FL and John K. Fitt (and daughter-in-law Deborah Chaney Fitt) of Palmetto, FL and her father Virgil F. Paul (Sun City Center, FL). She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret E. Paul and numerous aunts and uncles with whom she was very close. Mrs. Fitt's sisters, Doris J. Smith (and her husband Donald W. Smith) and Linda K. Bower and sister-in-law Roxana J. Fitt also reside in Kings Point, Sun City Center, FL. Mrs. Fitt also had many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews who reside throughout the United States. SERVICE UPDATE: Interment will be Friday, January 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM in Ruskin Memorial Park Cemetery, Ruskin, FL.
