Obituary of Lawrence R Lewis

Lawrence “Butch” Lewis, 81, of Sun City Center, FL passed away February 2, 2024, after a brief illness. Butch was born November 30, 1942, in Chillicothe, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin and Edna Lewis; and his siblings Evelyn Nolan, Donald Lewis, Mervin Lewis, Thomas Lewis, Robert Lewis, and Paul Lewis.

Butch is survived by his wife of forty-eight years Kathey Lewis; Daughters Jamee Kruse Mt. Adams, OH, Kristy (Scott) Tallon Minneola, FL, and Stepdaughter Wendy McWhorter Chillicothe, OH, sisters: Sherry Lewis, CA and Judy Kaltenbach Chillicothe, OH; Grandchildren Molly Kruse, Mackenzie Kruse, Mickey Kruse, Amber Ranney, William McWhorter and Kaylee Tallon; along with many nieces and nephews.

Butch worked as a Transportation Manager for Mead and Mac Papers. After a long career in the paper industry, he and his wife retired to Florida. He loved to bass fish, a good steak, follow Nascar, The Tampa Bay Rays, The Cincinnati Reds, and Ohio State. He also liked playing bingo, hand and foot, sudoku and especially enjoyed watching his granddaughter Kaylee play softball.

Butch was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was a quiet, peaceful man who loved his family, and teared up every time he heard Just As I Am sung. He will be missed by many, but we are rejoicing that he is healed and with his Savior. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on February 17, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Trinity Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Sun City Center.
