Obituary of James Ray

Ray, James R, 95, of Sun City Center, FL passed away on December 5, 2023. He served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954, was discharged with the rank of Corporal, after having received the Occupation Medal (Germany), and the National Defense Medal.

He founded, organized, and taught line dancing at the Sunray Linedance Club. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge (Bradenton), and a proud member of the Ringers Horseshoe Club. He was a member of St John the Divine Episcopal Church. His wife of 53 years, Rita Ray, passed away November 15, 2013.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen (Mike) McClain, Michelle (Peter) Grady, and Theresia Walker, and three sons, David (Brigitte) Passman, Michael J (Joy) Ray, and Michael C (Karen) Passman, 16 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. Family will be receiving visitors at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am Monday, December 11, 2023 at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, FL. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Ocala, FL.
