Obituary of JOAN L SEARS

Joan Sears (1934-2023) Joan Luella Sears, 89, of Sun City Center, Florida died peacefully on November 22, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was filled with joy anytime she could spend time with her family, whether for holidays, birthdays, special events, or just for a simple summer day. Joan's joyful spirit, her buoyant, positive attitude, and her cagey sense of humor would fill any room she entered, and she would never fail to create lasting, loving connections anywhere she went.

Joan was born in Glens Falls, New York on February 26, 1934 to the late Florence and Seward Bemis and there she would meet her future husband and love of her life, Peter, while a nursing resident at Glens Falls Hospital. Joan and Peter were married on May 1, 1955 at the Glens Falls Methodist Church and spent much of their nearly 70 wonderful years together in Loudonville, NY and Sun City Center, Florida.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Peter, daughter Eileen, sons David and Michael, granddaughters Jessica, Jacqueline, Rebecca, Oliveah, and grandsons Christopher, Zachary, Andrew, Jonathan, and great granddaughter Marina. Joan was predeceased by her four sisters Doris, Adeline, Elaine and Jane.

Joan was laid to rest in a private service.
