Obituary of Katherine Mary Staffa

Katherine “Katie” Mary Staffa, 46 of Apollo Beach, FL passed away July 19, 2023 at St Joseph South Hospital. Born in Cleveland, OH and raised in Fairfield, OH she graduated from Fairfield High School and attended Miami University.  Katie is survived by her husband Mark Staffa, her mother Susan Sands and father Gary Elmenthaler. She is also survived by her grandmother Eva “Susie” Sands, her brothers Matthew Bruno, Patrick Elmenthaler, Robert White and Bradford White.

Katie was a very loving and caring individual.  She spent her time serving the public as a firefighter/EMT for several departments in the Cincinnati and Dayton, OH areas.  She had a very unique sense of humor. She had a very inquisitive mind, always wanting to learn something new.  She had a deep love of music, having played in her high school marching band and as an adult with the Atlanta CV Drum & Bugle Corps where she met Mark.  She loved animals, having two dogs who would never leave her side.  Her beautiful smile and charming spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held in Katie’s honor at a later date.  The time and location will be announced as details are finalized.
