Obituary of Margaret Reese Whitford

Margaret Reese Whitford passed away on June 12th, 2023, in Sun City, FL at the age of 85.  Margaret was born and raised in High Point, NC, and was the youngest of four siblings.   Margaret attended St. Mary’s School for Girls in Raleigh, NC, followed by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Margaret met her beloved husband, William “Bill” Whitford, during her college years and they were married shortly after. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this year. Margaret and Bill had three wonderful children together.

Margaret was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Margaret was known for her generous heart which endeared her to all who knew her. She was a wonderful hostess and loved entertaining family and friends. Margaret had a zest for life and loved to travel and explore new places. She made friends wherever she went.

Margaret will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will be cherished by her family and friends.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023, with visitation at 11 am followed by a memorial service at 12 pm at Sun City Center Funeral Home.
