Obituary of Kenneth John Ballo

Kenneth John Ballo, 68, of Sun City Center, FL, passed away on May 8, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, FL. He was born on October 10, 1954, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Lovona (McKay) Ballo, as well as his wife Jane Ballo. Ken graduated from South Fayette High School, received his master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University, and worked as a Senior Systems Engineer with Verizon. He lived most of his life in Southwestern, PA before moving to the Tampa Bay area in Florida after his retirement. Ken enjoyed a full life as a religious education teacher, golfer, bowler, and world traveler. He enjoyed all the Pittsburgh sports teams, even the Pirates. Ken was a caring husband, loving father, and doting grandfather. His warm-hearted demeanor and sense of humor will be remembered by all that knew him.

Ken is survived by his son Jarrett Ballo, daughter-in-law Amanda Ballo, granddaughter Reese Ballo, son Joseph Ballo, daughter-in-law Holly Ballo, daughter Elizabeth Ballo, brother Alan Ballo, sister-in-law Peggy Ballo, stepson Christopher Beer, step granddaughter Autumn Beer, step grandson Jeremy Beer, and step granddaughter Allison Beer.

Ken will be remembered at his celebration of life on June 2, 2023, at 2pm. The service will be held at the Sun City Center Funeral Home at 1851 Rickenbacker Drive Sun City Center, FL 33573.

The family requests no flowers, but in lieu a donation to your selected charity in Ken’s name is welcomed instead.
