Obituary of Joyce Divver

Divver, Joyce Mae, 69, of Apollo Beach, Florida passed away January 14, 2022. Joyce was born on October 1, 1952 in Washington, D.C. She and her family relocated to Florida in 1989. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Patrick E. Divver Sr. parents, Herbert and Jeanette Porter; and her sibling Glenn Porter. Joyce is survived by her son, Patrick E. Divver Jr. (Jenny) and daughter, Kimberly Frye, (Jason). Siblings Greg Porter and Gary Porter. Grandchildren, Chelsie Marie Divver, Lacie Victoria Frye, Jacqueline Nicole Divver, Amanda Mae Frye, Justin Andrew Frye, Patrick “Trey” E. Divver III, Dylan Riley Divver & Cadence Caroline Divver. 

Joyce enjoyed crafting, going to the beach, traveling and going to baseball games, going to concerts and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Anytime music would come on she would light up and sing and dance like no one was watching. Joyce was one of a kind. She gave her wisdom and kindness to those who needed it. Her laugh was contagious. She loved her 2 chihuahua’s Ms. Lady and Mitzy girl. She did add a new member to the family, Ziggy the beta fish.

Joyce worked for the school district as a lunchroom lady at Thompson Elementary school. Those children absolutely adored her. We always joked that when we went into Walmart she was a celebrity. Every child that knew her would run and give Ms. Joyce a hug. She loved that job so much. Those children kept her on her toes. She then retired from the Hillsborough county school district in August of 2021. She then took a small part time job at LLT Academy South Bay in Ruskin Florida. Those children were her world.

Those that knew Joyce know that she always had that beautiful smile on her face no matter what the situation was and had such charming spirit. Joyce was the most loving person and will be missed by many.

Joyce’s memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the Sun City Funeral home.

Friends are welcome from 4:00pm – 8:00pm

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 24 2022 from 11:00am-11:45am

Burial will take place at Bushnell National Cemetery at 1:30 arrival time.
