Gloria Mastrototaro

Obituary of Gloria Mastrototaro

Our beautiful, stylish, strong-willed, dry-humored, classy, sassy, feisty redhead, tell it like she saw it, knower of all things, biggest cheerleader and most honest critic, our safety net, keeper of secrets, touchstone, the person who understood us totally and completely…our Momma, has gone to heaven on January 10, 2022.  She was a fighter till the very end and is finally at peace with Dad.  We will love you always, forever, and a day.  Our Momma.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in October 1942 (Don’t ask the date because that has often changed) to the late Hyman & Mae Palansky (Polanski).

Gloria’s love of fashion started at The High School of Fashion Industries and later The Fashion Institute of Technology where she received her bachelor’s degree.

Gloria salsa danced her way through dozens of countries.  Her love of travel and carefree youth brought many spontaneous weekend getaways to Puerto Rico with nothing but her makeup bag.  She and her friends would buy a new bathing suit and an outfit and spent their days sunning and laughing by the pool or the beach followed by a date night for dinner and dancing.  Gloria loved to travel and never met a stranger doing so.

Gloria met her late husband, Louie Mastrototaro on a blind date, while already engaged (for the 6th time) and she knew right away, he was the ONE she had been waiting for.  They were married in August 1974 in Brooklyn, NY.  Soon after, they welcomed their daughter Kim Marie and moved to Staten Island, NY.

Gloria was a woman of many talents and skills.  She did everything from being hat model to CFO to becoming a multimillion-dollar Real Estate Agent.  She retired at 55 and moved to Sarasota, FL where she and Louie built their beautiful pink dream home.  After some time, they set out west to Las Vegas, NV but the call of the palm trees brought them back to Florida again.

Gloria will be forever remembered and celebrated by her daughter, Kim Marie Todaro, son-in-law Frank, her grandchildren and lights of her life, Matthew Angelo & Isabella Rose.  She will be forever missed by her fur baby, Oreo Cookie (Shih Tzu), her daughters, not by birth but by choice of heart, Vanessa Suarez, Nikki Clarke, Lori Tisman, Heather Meyers, and LaSharn Jerry. And of course, QVC & HSN (who will probably now go bankrupt!)

Oh! We ain`t got a barrel of money
Maybe we`re ragged and funny
But we`ll travel along
Singing a song
Side by side
I don`t know what`s a-comin` tomorrow
Maybe it`s trouble and sorrow
But we`ll travel the road
Sharing our load
Side by side
through all kinds of weather
What if the sky should fall
Just as long as we`re together
It really doesn`t matter at all
When they`ve all had their quarrels and parted
We`ll be the same as we started
Just traveling along
Singing a song
Side by side

You will ALWAYS be by our side Momma
