Obituary of Jean Jessica Wheat

Jean J. Wheat – loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home on November 30, 2019. Jean was loved by all who knew her. She had a huge heart, a warm smile, personality plus, and always considered others before herself. Jean loved classical music, cooking and eating Italian food, dancing, and traveled extensively in Europe.

Jean was born in Jamestown, NY on April 6, 1935. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1954. Eventually her and her daughters relocated to Romulus, NY where she met her husband Paul Wheat, an officer in the US Army. They married in 1974 and subsequently relocated to Copperas Cove, TX. This was followed by a move to Luxembourg, Europe for 14 years, and a final relocation to Sun City Center, FL where they have resided for the past 25 years.

Jean was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Parinella Sr. and her mother, Catherine (Bartellota) Parinella, both whom immigrated from Sicily. Jean was always very proud of her heritage. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel Parinella, Cyril Parinella and Anthony (Tony) Parinella Jr; two sisters, Carmella (Parinella) Oliver and Jessie Parinella; and an infant daughter.

In addition to her husband Paul, Jean is survived by two daughters, Lisa Demaline (Rick) of Greenville, MI and Gina Leake of Beavercreek, OH; three grandchildren, Daniel Leake (Katrina) of Jamestown, NY, and Taylor Leake and Harrison Leake of Beavercreek, OH; one great-grandchild Madison Leake of Jamestown, NY; a close niece Della Edborg of Sun City Center, and many other nieces and nephews in NY and FL.

There will be a Funeral Mass for Jean celebrated at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10th followed by a buffet luncheon in the Conesa Center. Internment will take place at a future date in Arlington National Cemetery, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Jean may be made to the Salvation Army, or a charity of your choice.
