Obituary of Eileen M. Preece

Eileen M. Preece, 90, of Sun City Center passed away at her home on Sunday September 8, 2019.  Born in Philadelphia as Eileen McAuliffe, she was a student at Kensington High School there.  She lived for many years in Penns Grove New Jersey and in Sarasota Florida, spending her working career in Banking.

A lifelong Christian, Eileen lived a beautiful, blessed life, enjoying travel and her many interests and hobbies including sewing, needlework, painting, gardening, cooking, decorating and singing in church and secular choirs.  She loved orchids, opera and classical music, fashion and kept in touch with current and world events, politics and the environment to the end. 

An avid reader, Eileen was still reading five books per week, driving a car and attending church at The United Methodist Church in Sun City Center. While she did not have any children, Eileen was married and widowed three times, the latest to Dr. Clifford Preece, where they enjoyed time together in their home in Mississauga, Canada.

Eileen is survived by her dear sister Vera (Jackie) Moretti and her husband Lester Moretti, of Sun City Center, special, often caregiver niece (her namesake) Eileen Moretti Hall of Apollo Beach,  nephew Les Moretti., their children and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed Cliff Preece’s four children in Canada, their spouses, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and was especially close to Cliff’s daughter Christie Preece Sterns.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday November 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM at The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Blvd West, SCC FL 33573. She will be placed to rest at the church’s Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Smile Train, Doctors Without Borders, or Amnesty International.
