Wanda Wilson

Obituary of Wanda Wilson

25 May, 1923-March 6, 2008 Wilson, Wanda H. of Sun City Center, Fl. Passed away March 6, 2008 and has joined her husband (Dick Wilson), daughter (Linda Muraro), and sister (Betty Johnson) in Heaven. Wanda is survived by her son Richard Wilson and his wife Janis and their children Ricky and Katie and her son-in-law Ron Muraro and his son Ronnie Muraro, by her brother Herbert Herrington and his family and by her brother-in-law George Johnson and his family. Wanda married a young pilot during WWII named Dick Wilson. After 30 years of service he retired from the USAF and moved his family to Lakeland in 1968. They had two children, Linda Muraro and Richard Wilson. Her sister Betty and husband George Johnson moved to Lakeland when he retired from the USAF. Their children followed. After the nomadic life of a service wife this brought great joy to her. Each day she asked God what He would have her do that day. From that poured forth the beauty that was Wanda. For the casual observer the most remarkable accomplishment would be the years she led a team of real estate associates. The company was called Wanda Wilson Realty, Inc. and was located in Lakeland. This was from the years 1972 to 1983. In those short years she motivated and directed a group of individuals who became the best real estate sales team Lakeland had seen. When she retired, the Mayor of the City of Lakeland gave her the Keys to the city as an acknowledgement of what she had accomplished. This award was due to her impact which was beyond the success of the company. She touched the lives of those who knew her. She frequently would say how amazed she was that God had blessed her so much. For those who knew her, we say God has also been good through Wanda to us. Words cannot express this kind of beauty. If you can imagine someone whose whole energy was spent on helping others see what was right, what was good, and what was possible then you have a glimpse of life with Wanda. She was faithful to the end. She was known for her wit and quick smile, but that is another story. ? On behalf of Wanda we thank you for allowing her to be a part of so many wonderful moments. She often said that we found our corner of Heaven on Earth in Lakeland. To those friends that she so cherished, living or dead, we are forever thankful. To the associates that allowed her to be a part of their lives, know that she treasured you all. In Jesus our Lord she trusted and in Him she lives. Funeral Service will be held 11AM, Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at South Brandon Worship Center, 4929 Bell Shoals Road, Valrico, Fl. 33594 In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to Sun City Center Hospice House, 3725 Upper Creek Drive, Ruskin, Florida 33573
