Obituary of Richard Alan Rowburrey

ROWBURREY, Richard "Alan" of Sun City Center, Fla., peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Alan was born in London, England in 1935 and was raised in Aberdare, S. Wales, UK. After service in the Royal Air Force and meeting his wife, Elizabeth, they emigrated to the US in 1964 where they lived as long time residents of Sherman, Conn. Alan was extremely active in the local community as Deacon of the Sherman Congregational Church, Chairman of the Park and Recreation Dept, Secretary of the Sherman Volunteer Fire Dept, Boy Scout Leader, and member of the St. Peter's Masonic Lodge. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son Paul and his wife, Tanya, with grandsons Brooks and Tanner, son Ian,. and his wife, Maryann, with granddaughter Megan and grandson Sean, sisters Pearl and Rita, many nieces and nephews, and his faithful canine companion, Rory. A memorial service will take place 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Dr., Sun City Center, Fla. and again this summer in Sherman, Conn.
