Obituary of Margaret M. Toscano

Toscano, Margaret M. 83 of Sun City Center, FL. Passed away January 3, 2008, Her husband of 48 years was the late Joseph "Doc" Toscano, also of Sun City Center, Fl. "Margie" was born in Baltimore Md. And began her singing career at the age of 5 on The Kiddie Club, a radio station in Baltimore. This led to full time singing career in the 1940's era of the Big Bands. She was vocalist with various bands such as Boyd Rayburn, Cris Cross, Randy Brooks, Cray Adams, Bobby Sherwood and others. She also was lead Vocalist at The Roseland Ballroom in New York City. Ending her professional career as a vocalist, Margie was employed by the State of New Jersey as an office manager in the Consumer Protection Agency until her retirement in 1989, and being avid golfers, she and Doc Toscano moved to Sun City Center. It did not take long to discover Margie's singing and dancing talents, and for a number of years, she performed in the Follies productions. In addition, She and Doc Formed The Rythymaires Combo with Margie as the featured singer. It also didn't take long for Falcon Watch to recognize her for golfing talents, having won the Women's Club Championship in "91. 93, 99". Her passion for golf continued to the end of her life. Survivors include sisters, Lillian Ruark, Diana Knapp, a brother, George Hoffman, brother in Laws Sterling Ruark, Joseph Knapp and several nephews and nieces. She will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
