Obituary of Wilma Olson

Olson, Wilma, "Billie" began life on Sept 21, 1923 in Alberta, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Teresa Lee. She married Robert "Bob" Olson in 1943. They lived on a farm in Stevens County, Minnesota and had two daughters. In 1950, the family moved to Elk River, MN where Robert made a career change to own and operate a John Deere farm implement dealership. They joined and were active members of Central Lutheran Church in Elk River. In 1966, Billie and Bob moved to Brooklyn Park where they lived until 1968. They then moved back to Elk River to become the managers of Lakeside Apartments and stayed there until retirement in 1980. In 1999, Bob passed away and two years later Billie moved to Sun City Center, Florida. Billie loved her new community as well as her new friends and neighbors. She was very active at Redeemer Lutheran Church,and it became the center of her life in Florida. Billie is survived by two daughters, Sandra Chatfield and Vesta Weers, four granddaughters, Kirsten Barsness, Tanya Grawe, Dianna Lambert and Brenda McKinney, and nine great grandchildren: Abigail and Amanda Barsness, Jacob and Aran Grawe, James and Ryan Lambert, Joshua, Luke and Gabriel McKinney. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Sun City Center, Florida
