NIELD, Cyril, 91, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away October 15, 2007, under the care of LifePath Hospice. He was a native of Liverpool, England, and came to the United States as a young man. He received his doctorate degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J. in 1942. He was a past member of American Chemical Society and had numerous research papers published. During his career, he worked for several pharmaceutical companies, the Federal Food, Drug, and Alcohol Administration, and Olay Company. Cy loved bridge, crossword puzzles, morning power walks, conversing with others, reading and classical music. Later in life, he liked spending time on his computer. He was preceded in death by his wives, Helen Nield and Joan Norris Nield; and his daughter, Christine Nield-Capote. Surviving are his daughter, Leslie Nield-Anderson, Brad Nield; sons-in-law, Michael Anderson and Manuel Capote; and grandson, Nicholas Captoe. A Mass is scheduled for December 10, 2007, at the Prince of Peace Church. The family has requested donations to the Sun City Center Emergency Squad or LifePath Hospice rather than flowers.
