Obituary of William Chase Ruch
Ruch, William Chase, 82 of Sun City Center, FL passed away January 2, 2008 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL after a long illness. He was a beloved husband, father and "Grandad." Bill was born on May 22, 1925 in New York City, NY and raised in White Plains, NY. Upon graduation at Mercersburg Academy in PA, he procured a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and enjoyed a 35-year executive career with Allied Chemical Corp. (now Allied Signal) in Morristown, NJ. Upon retirement, Bill became associated with the United Nuclear Corp. in Mulberry, FL, which brought him and his family to Florida and to their home of 30 years on Lake Florence in Winter Haven before moving to Sun City Center in 2005. An outdoorsman and animal lover, Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, swimming and collecting minerals, and he spent nearly 70 summers at his longtime family "camp" on Governor's Island, on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Hoke Ruch, and his daughter, Susan Ruch Roush, son-in-law Michael Joseph Roush and grandchildren Thomas William Roush and Katherine Patricia Roush, who live in Woodland Hills, CA. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Leslie Ann Ruch and Judith Ruch Beebe; his sister, Elizabeth R. Brown, and his parents, Clinton Joseph Ruch and Harriet Chase
