Obituary of Cheryl Joanne Macak

Cheryl Joanne (Mickel) Macak passed away on March 28, 2023 at the age of 81.  She was born in Altoona, PA on November 13,1941. She graduated from Altoona High School in 1959. After graduation, she got married and raised her three children in Altoona.  She later worked for Mid-State Bank and Trust Company.  In 1989 she moved to Newburg, PA  and worked for Little Tikes and then Giant Food until retiring.

In March of 2020 she was able to realize a dream of moving to Florida to enjoy the beach, the ocean and the beautiful sunshine.  She settled in Sun City Center where she enjoyed being close to all her family.  She loved sitting on her porch feeding Buddy the squirrel and enjoyed her view of the palm trees and water.  She loved reading, playing sudoku, doing word searches, going to yard sales and spending time with her family.

Cheryl is survived by her three children, Tamme Macak, Cindy Frazier (Ken) and Scott Macak (Judy), her five grandchildren, Brandon, Justin and Corey Macak and Eric and Danielle Frazier and her other loving family members, Steve Macak, Cathey Macak, and Karen Myers as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cheryl has one surviving brother, Wayne Mickel, and was predeceased by her five other brothers, Bernie, Darryl, Jim, Ron and Tom as well as a half-brother, Harold.

In lieu of flowers her family suggests a donation in her name to an animal rescue of your choice.

A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at a later date by her family.
