Joseph Pinho

Obituary of Joseph Patrick Pinho

Joseph “Patrick” Pinho, 82, of St. Petersburg, FL and Sun City Center, FL passed away on February 24, 2023, due to complications from congestive heart failure. Patrick was born July 29, 1940, to Cecil M. Pinho and Angeline Robello Pinho in Honolulu, Hawaii.  After graduating from Saint Louis High School, Patrick continued his studies by enrolling at Cal Poly State University.  A year later, he pursued his dream by moving to Columbus, Ohio, and completing the remainder of his college education at The Ohio State University. In 1966, Patrick met the love of his life, Jayne Ann Jordan. They wed in 1968 and raised two children, Patrick and Eric.  Even after 55 years of marriage, Patrick's deep abiding love for Jayne was evident until the day he passed. Patrick was a loving father and grandfather who encouraged his children and grandchildren to persevere and achieve regardless of circumstance.  He would often inspire his family by saying, “You are a Pinho,” which implied they had a superpower and were expected to use it. That simple phrase made his family feel like they could accomplish anything. Patrick was known for his love of sports. He encouraged his boys to play on numerous teams and regularly took them to Bengals and Reds games; a memory his sons will cherish forever.  As he and Jayne enjoyed retirement in Florida, he became a devoted fan of the local teams and loved attending Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Rays games.  However, nothing made him happier than watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes play football.  Pat loved books and was an avid reader.  At any given time, he could be found tinkering with electronics, day trading, or giving thrifty advice to a friend or loved one. Patrick was never afraid to follow his dreams and take on opportunities to better the life of his family and friends. He had an entrepreneur’s spirit.  He worked tirelessly to put himself in a position to acquire his own company, JE Parker, a poultry producer based in Eaton, OH.  He successfully ran his company for many years and had a positive impact on the community.  He culminated his professional career by returning to the same industry in which he loved, working as a broker for McClain Foods before retiring in 2012.

Patrick is survived by his beloved wife, Jayne and their two sons, Patrick Pinho (wife Brigette and children Gavin and Audrey) and Eric Pinho (wife Angie and children Jake and Katie).  He also leaves behind his brother, Russell (wife Patty). Patrick Pinho was optimistic, steadfast, intelligent, driven, sincere, faithful, and honest.  He passed on wisdom and positive energy with a smile to whomever he was around.  His family will remember and draw upon these qualities and lessons for generations to come.
