Obituary of Aurora Placeres

Aurora Placeres has been called to heaven by her Lord and Savior on March 27^th, 2022 at the age of 79. A devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother Aurora will live on in the hearts and memories of all who loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Juan B. Placeres, her 3 Children Maritza Turbiner, Francisco Placeres and Leticia Colon. Grandchildren: Albert Mercado, Alfonso Rodriguez Jr, Brandon Colon, Kimberly Colon and Great Grandchildren: Alex Rodrigues, Gianna Mercado, Jayden Mercado, Leviathan Reavis.

Aurora was born April 24, 1942 in Lares, Puerto Rico. She and her husband left the island in 1960, for Bronx, NYC where they began raising their family until 1971 when they moved to New Jersey and bought their first home. She was a strong woman that led her family to progress by the strength of her own hard work and determination.

After retiring and helping raise her grandchildren, Aurora and her husband moved back to Puerto Rico in 2001 to grow old together near their families in Naguabo (PR). After hurricane Maria, Aurora converted her patio into an outdoor kitchen where she cooked, provided meals and supplied water for her community. She was a true pillar.

Instilling love and compassion, serving her community and heading her family are only a few of the ways Aurora will be remembered.
