Obituary of Higinio Pecina

Higinio Pecina, 79, Of Wimauma, Florida passed away on October 20, 2021, at 1:41pm.

Higinio was born on December 17, 1941, in Matamoros, Tamauilpas, Mexico to the late Luis Pecina and Manuela Betancourt Pecina. In addition to his parents, Higinio was preceded in death by his siblings, Ramon Pecina, Paula Villalobos, and Rafaela Brasher

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Pecina; children, Maria Minerva Pecina, Ramon Pecina, Yolanda Torres (Juventino Torres), Higinio Pecina Jr., Luis Manuel Pecina (Maria Molina), Norma Lucia Pecina (Nicasio Maldonado), Francisco Pecina (Maria Cecilia Ramones) , Maria De Jesus Pecina, Alma Patricia Gordon (Christopher Gordon), Ruth Pecina (Jose Carmen Rocha); siblings, Adela Wright, Maria Luisa Gonzalez, Martha Jaramillo, Alicia Flores, Sylvia Serna, Esmeralda Trujillo; thirty-five grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; many extended family members and friends. Beloved by all who met him, he had a great impact on our community. From being known as a taxi driver to his making his cast nets for people of all ages.

Higinio will be very much missed, he was much more then a husband he was Rebecca’s best friend, something we all wish to find in a partner, they had 57 years of marriage with ten beautiful children. Higinio the husband, the dad, the grandpa our everything you will forever be in our hearts and memory. Thank you for all you have taught us, we love you.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 4-5 for immediate family and from 5-7pm for family and friends with the Celebration of Life starting at 6pm. Friends and family will be meeting at 11am on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the Sun City Funeral Home to be escorted to Lake Wimauma Memorial Gardens.
