Obituary of Margie Sue Creel Brock

Margie Sue (Creel) Brock, age 88, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, October 10, 2021 at the Sun Terrace Nursing Facility in Sun City Center, Florida where she resided. She was born in Lakeland, FL. on April 17, 1933 to her parents, Oscar Goldridge Creel and Nona Ethelda (Lucas) Creel who precede her in death. She was a 1951 graduate of Clearwater High School where not many years after graduation, she would meet the love of her life, William “Bill” Marshall Brock Sr. and they married on May 1, 1954. He survives after 67 years of faithful and loving marriage. After various clerical jobs throughout the course of her life, Margie would pursue the dream of her life, professionally teaching preschool children. She enrolled into St. Pete Junior College, where upon graduation would go on to teach in several preschools in the Pinellas County, FL area. Margie would receive several honors and recognition for her teaching along with being awarded Teacher of the Year twice. Throughout her lifetime, she faithfully served the Lord in every church she was a member including teaching children, singing in the choir, playing the piano, cooking meals for any and every church function and opening her home to care for any preacher, evangelist, missionary or music team that needed a place to stay. She currently was a member of the First Christian Church of Sun City Center, Florida. She loved to pray, read her Bible along with other Christian books, travel, garden, decorate, sew and was an excellent homemaker. She was a supporter of her children and grandchildren in any kind of event that they were involved. Margie’s true gift was that of hospitality where among her favorite things to do was to watch cooking shows on TV along with reading cookbooks to learn how to prepare new recipes for dishes she would cook for people, especially her family.

As a 40-plus-year breast cancer survivor, among other ailments and surgeries, Margie was a faithful, hard-working, diligent mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew and loved her. Known for her strong will and tenacious spirit, Margie lived her entire life to the glory of God never allowing the circumstances of her life defeat her resolve in serving the Lord or her family. She will be missed by her husband Bill; children William Jr. (Jan) Brock of Brazil, IN.
