Obituary of John Borges

John Antonio Lopes Borges Sr, age 76, beloved husband of Patricia Higgins Borges of Apollo Beach, Florida, entered through the eternal Gates of Heaven on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.  Born in Vila do Conde, Portugal on January 11, 1945, he was the eldest son of the late Antonio and Alzira Lopes Borges.  

John was a longtime resident of Bridgeport and Oxford Ct.  Before his retirement, he worked at Handy Harmon, Stop and Shop and Quassy Amusement as a mechanic and electrician, in addition to owning two area gas stations. He enjoyed visiting family and friends, playing cards and watching westerns and war movies.

His survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Patricia Higgins Borges, his children, John Borges Jr and his wife Jodie, Daniel L Borges, Anthony James Borges and Karlie Rose Borges, and 4 grandchildren, Kaitlin, Matthew, Jason and Abigail.  His sister Nancy Borges Esteves and her husband Manuel Esteves, his brother Jack Borges and his partner Robin Kendrick, as well as nephews Manuel Esteves Jr. (Stacy) and Daniel Esteves (Marissa) and their families.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Borges Sheffield, his brother, Daniel Borges and sister, Clara Borges.
