Lota Scarlett Kray

Scarlett Kray, beloved wife, mother, and Nonnie unexpectedly went home to be with her savior Jesus Christ in heaven on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Scarlett’s beautiful smile and precious spirit were a gift to anyone who knew her. Scarlett gave her life to Jesus on October 13, 1956, at 16 years old when attending a Billy Graham Crusade. She dedicated her life to ministering to others and professing her love for Jesus. Scarlett devoted herself to her most treasured calling of being a wife and mother. Her family was her central focus every single day, and she delighted in her tasks of loving and caring for her beloved husband Joe, and three children, Leta, Melissa, and John. Scarlett was the BEST household executive! Once her children were grown, Scarlett turned her focus to ministering to others. Scarlett accepted a position at Palmcroft Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ as the Ministry Coordinator for Evangelism Explosion, where she faithfully served for 12 years. After her retirement from this position, Scarlett joined Joe in his visitation ministry and together they shared the love of Jesus in hospital rooms and homes across the greater Phoenix area for another 7 years. Upon their retirement from ministry in the Phoenix area, Scarlett and Joe relocated to Florida in order to be closer to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Scarlett and Joe have enjoyed 4 wonderful years of loving on their family, making new friends, travelling, and continuuing to minister to others through their new church home, Trinity Baptist Church of Sun City Center. Scarlett is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Joe, her three children, Leta Perez, Melissa Salefsky and her husband Paul, John Kray and his wife Jodi. Scarlett is also survived by 11 grandchildren Tyler Cotton and his wife Cheri, Hunter Cotton, Caden Salefsky, Ian Kray, Alyssa Kray, Alexis Kray, Alaina Kray, Logan Kray, Aiden Kray, Tyler Salefsky and Tim Salefsky and his wife Sherilyn as well as three great grandchildren Amelia Cotton, Sophie Cotton, and Lily Salefsky
