Obituary of Thomas Charles Domeika

Thomas (Tom) Charles Domeika, 84, of Sun City Center, FL, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital South on December 2, 2019. He was born on June 26, 1935, in Chicago Illinois to his parents, Elzbieta (Betty) and Kazimieras.  Tom is a Marine who was honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant. He met the love of his life, Rosa Llarch, in Santiago de Cuba, while serving in the Marines. They were married for 61 years and had eight children, one of whom passed away after childbirth.

Tom graduated from the University of Alabama in 1962 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and worked for General Electric for over 35 years. 

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Domeika; daughters, Rosa (Mark) Pratt of Gloucester, VA; Carmen Domeika DeGraaff of Sarasota, FL; and Carina (Dustin) Stewart of Charleston, SC; and sons, Thomas (Hien) Domeika of Fort Lauderdale, FL; John (Hilary) Domeika of Seattle, WA; James (Christina) Domeika of Homer, AK; and Paul (fiancée Caroline Roberts) Domeika of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren Erika, Desiree, Alexander, Jack, Michael, Dustin, Jaclyn, Sabra, and Damien; and many loving family members.

There will be a funeral mass for Tom celebrated at Prince of peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 11, followed by internment at the Sarasota National Cemetery, FL.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to honor Tom may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital using  Thomas Charles Domeika Memorial Fund at St. Jude or a charity of your choice.
