Obituary of Patricia C. Austin

Patricia Clarke Austin, age 81 passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2019. 

Known for being compassionate and genuine, Pat was a beloved wife, sister and daughter. She blessed all those who knew her with her gentle and generous spirit and will be dearly missed by her many friends.  She never met a stranger and her boundless curiosity, gift of gab, kindness and dry wit made her a joy to know and love.  Pat was born in Alamance County, NC on September 4, 1938 to the late Max Elwyn Clarke and Bronnie Lee Harward Clarke.  Pat attended schools in Greensboro NC and Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC.  She retired as a business owner from the wholesale distribution/manufactures rep business in the early 2000's and relocated with Jerry L. Austin, her husband of 55 years to Sun City Center, FL.

Pat enjoyed a life filled with world-wide travel, hobbies including gardening, reading and stained glass art activities.  She shared many pieces of her beautiful glass art with friends all over the country.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry.  Pat is survived by her brother, David W. Clarke.

Pat was fortunate to have lifelong friends from Florida to the Carolinas, and beyond.  All who knew her will miss her Southern grace and the very often used "Thank You" expression, spoken in the true dialect of her birthplace.

There will be a grave side service at a later date and her final resting place will be with her husband in Greensboro, NC.
