Obituary of Esther Prida De La Huerta

On Tuesday, January 29, 2019, Esther Prida De La Huerta passed away at the age of 83. Esther was born in Cuba to Aurora and Jose Ramon Prida. She attended college in Cuba, earned her teaching degree and taught home economics. She moved to the United States in 1959 and proudly became a U.S. Citizen in 2000. Esther is survived by her husband of 50 years, Marcos De La Huerta, her son, Jose (Nancy) Silva, her beloved grandchildren, Rachel and Erick, and her two brothers, Carlos Prida (Tampa) and Jorge (Ana) Prida (Torrence CA).

Esther and Marco were the owners and proprietors of Olofi Botanica for 35 years, until their retirement in 2016.

A burial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 12:00p.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery in Brandon, FL.

The family thanks the nurses and CNAs who cared for Esther during her final months at Melech Hospice House and Opis Fairway Oaks Nursing Home.
