Obituary of Robert Wilson Hayworth, Jr.

Robert W. Hayworth, Jr. passed away October 28, 2018, at 4:45 am. He is survived by his life partner – Deborah K. Baker, his loving 'little man' four legged Marshall Dillon; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Wilson Hayworth III and his wife, Paula; and grandsons Scott and Michael Hayworth. His wishes were for no formal services and to be cremated and buried in the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.

Bob will be long remembered for his love of playing the clarinet and alto and tenor sax. He was born on December 15, 1931 in High Point, NC, and was well known on Myrtle Beach for dancing the Shag and playing with his Bands, The Moonlighters and Moonglow around the neighboring Country Clubs. He was a great help to his customers during his working career. He loved sports of all kinds, playing golf and poker and going to Harrah's in Vegas. He lived a long and productive life and and spent the last two years at Cypress Creek Memory Care in Sun City FL where they took excellent care of him. The last month was at Plaza West Skilled Care where they tried their best to get him well. God had a better plan and decided Bob needed to go Home to get well. His last day was spent knowing I was there as I held his hand and he smiled when I mentioned ice cream or our dog Dillon. I see him now as a whole, well, happy and free individual to learn the importance of family and friends.

I encourage anyone who is struggling with an 'elephant' in your life to talk it out of your life so you can have all the enjoyment and love God intended for all of us to have. Nothing that I can think of in this world is worse than not saying how you really feel and making someone else's day better by doing so. Bob had a huge heart but sometimes kept it to himself and I used to tell him he needed to let others see how beautiful it was; but for some reason he had difficulty doing so. I feel he missed a great gift from God - we all try but sometimes we need to try harder. He kept his promises to me as I kept my promises to him. Death has a meaning for all of us – do the things you have been intending to do now, do not wait for that 'perfect' moment, they go by too fast. Seize them and enjoy all God meant for you to have. Wake up each day deciding for yourself what type of day it will be – do not let your mood or attitudes or the weather decide for you. We are all very strong and have so much to offer. Do not leave this world having left things undone or unsaid – you will have a more peaceful life now and forever. Praise God for taking Bob and not letting him understand how sick he was.

Be purposeful in your life, be happy, kind, thoughtful, patient and forgiving; and most of all do not leave this world with any regrets. Please leave your comments and condolences in a message on this website for me to treasure.  In lieu of flowers please donate to your local Animal Shelter or ASPCA. Thank you.

[I will instruct you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Psalm 32:8]
