Obituary of HIlda June Lieve

Hilda June Lieve, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2018 at Sun Terrace Rehabilitation Center in Sun City Center, Florida.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, CPL Eugene J. Lieve in 2012.  They were married on January 25, 1969.

Hilda was born on March 21, 1930, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Eskie O. and Gladys Headley.  She grew up on a farm in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1948 from Mt. Morris High School in Mount Morris, PA.  Throughout their marriage, Hilda and Gene lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and San Jose, California before retiring to Sarasota and Sun City Center, Florida.

She worked as a Key Punch Operator for American Cyanamid Company in the 1960’s.  A devoted Christian, Hilda loved watching the Christian channel, going to the Baptist Church, and playing the piano.  She would play the organ at church services and the amazing part was she never once took a single lesson.  Hilda also enjoyed shopping and doing arts and crafts (pottery, painting, sewing and embroidering).

She is survived by a sister-in-law: Marilyn Ann Headley; Nieces: Debbie (Will) Derstine of Souderton, PA, Missy (Tom) Parr (Goddaughter) of Audubon, NJ, Cherie (Chris) Mackey of Carbondale, PA, Kellie (Heath) White of Statesville, NC, Rebecca (Vince) Egyed of Burleson, TX and Diane Headley of Richmond, VA; Nephews: Gerald (Patsy) Headley of Richmond, VA, James Van Horn (Kim) of Otisville, MI, and Lawrence (Lajuana) Van Horn of Lapeer, MI; and Goddaughter, Michelle (John) Pabst of Washington, NJ. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Eldron Headley of Lynchburg, VA and William Headley of Greeley, PA and a sister, Marjorie Van Horn of Lapeer, MI.

The viewing will be held at the Trinity Baptist Church, 702 Del Webb Boulevard West, Sun City Center, Florida at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 2^nd with services beginning at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery.
