Anita C. Dauphin 90, the eldest daughter of Helen (Carrier) and Louis Emond passed away on November 13, 2021 at the Florida Tampa General Hospital. She was born and raised in New Hampshire. Her first job was with the telephone company. After marrying Joseph Dauphin, she left the state and was employed as a civil servant with the Air Force for many years. Her last position was with the Coast Guard. She served as secretary to Captain Snapinger. She retired after dedicating 25 years to civil service.
Anita always enjoyed traveling. While her husband was stationed in Germany, they visited many countries in Europe. After retiring, she and Joe visited all 50 United States. Later in life, Anita created plastic crafts, spent time making jigsaw puzzles, and playing Mahjong and Pinochle. She was an excellent cook and is remembered especially for her divinity fudge.
Anita is survived by her brother Raymond Emond, his wife Dorothy from Spring Hill Florida, two sisters Lucille Emond from Summerville South Carolina and Rachel Tozier and her husband Frank from Summerville South Carolina, a sister-in-law Marguerite Cormier and her husband Eugene from Rochester New Hampshire. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews.
There will be a viewing at Sun City Center Funeral Home on Monday, November 22nd at l:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The funeral will take place at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 23rd at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Sarasota National Military Cemetery, Florida on a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your charity of choice.
