"Dear Editor,

You never really prepare yourself, no matter how old you are, to say goodbye to your father.

When the Lord decided to take my father to Heaven, our family did not know what funeral home to reach out to.

I rolled the dice, and boy were we a winner. A soft-spoken woman answered the phone at Sun City Center Funeral Home to begin our journey. I explained to her my situation, and she compassionately said, just come on in; we will help in anyway possible.

As a first responder firefighter for 20 years, my husband and I were used to excited, unprepared, non-communicative individuals during emergencies.

She was calm and treated our emotional stress as if it were her father who had passed. The service was handled professionally, and it was beautiful.

Well, tragedy struck again. Unfortunately, it was closer to home.

My husband, a retired fire chief, suffered a massive heart attack, and I wasn't able to save his life.

My first thought was of the Sun City Center Funeral Home family.

They came to my house, wrapped Jimmie up in the American flag. He served 20 years in the Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. They treated him with such respect.

The entire staff at SCC Funeral Home went beyond the business-side for me. They filled my heart that was empty with hope for the future. They helped me get through this very difficult time. From this day forward I'm forever grateful!

Once again, I want to give a huge hug and thank you to the entire staff at Sun City Funeral Home."

"There are very few people that impress me with going above and beyond in providing a hired service, but you have done just that! There was nothing I could not ask of you that you did not jump in cheerily to do! Planning a memorial service can be daunting in the best of circumstances, in addition to grief going on. But doing this from afar could not have been easier because of you. I am so blown away with your availability to meet any request and help problem solve hard logistical issues for me by agreeing to print the programs, find and print the music lyrics, order the flowers, move the organ and even meet the family at the airport. Wow! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
